Upliftmentby *messa

Traditional Art / Paintings / Illustration / Conceptual

Assignment for my Adv. Illustration Seminar. Subject was "Desires", both from nature and nurture. This one is for the "natural" desire to be uplifted or brought out of this dark consuming thing, whether it be a situation or emotions or what have you.

It ended up turning out sort of creepy with the colors and the style, but I'm still pretty happy with it.

Very nice! I like the colors and the simple message you give. I kind of want the canvas to extend on the bottom to really show how horrid despair can be. It needs to be clear what they are ascending from. There needs to be more of a sense of horror. Just an idea, but it's great as it is anyway!

Thanks! And I like that idea. I think it would definitely add a lot more interest if the bottom extended to reveal a darker, bigger horror. The size would really explain the brevity of the situation and just how meaningful it is to have support pull you out of something like that.
