Artist's Comments

The final of the three. This one's about Shanghai local customs. I found this website where tourists visiting Shanghai described some of the things they saw... and some of them were that people would hang ducks outside in the open air, and people would have their laundry hanging out, and people rode bikes, and Shanghai had a lot of action and was very busy. :D

This one's got GREENIES. Always eat your greens.

It's not my favorite, but there is something about it I really like. I think its the colors.

I'd love to see this place someday. Like, from what I've seen on TV and computer screens, it gives off really good vibes, y'know?

This is a great series

I love this series. The different tones that you gave each picture really give them different feelings, but at the same time, that ties them together (does that make sense...?) Awesome, as always.

My parents are from Shanghai and I've vacationed to Shanghai several times in my life...I don't remember the ducks, but the hanging laundry, bikes and busy-ness is very accurate :XD: Uhhh make that REALLY BUSY. >_<; I could go on and on but this isn't the place. ^^; I think you've done a wonderful job on all three pieces ^^

Art takes time, willpower, and patience--none of which are inherent to mankind.

As constructive criticism: not really getting the "busy" feeling...needs a few more people walking in the street, I think.

I do really like this serie, though. It's a very different style than we're used to seeing from you, and you do it equally well. This would be excellent material for a children's book, or something of that order.

I agree with evelyn, it's not exactly "busy" when I think busy I think crowded and people rushing. Squeezing their way through, cutting off on coming cars in the distance.

otherwise, I'm loving your new style, it's something very organic (not the plant relation, more like unforced. experimental!)

Otaku

A contagious disease. Symptoms include mental hallucinations that is rendered in manga form. In some cases, victims brutally abuse the Japanese language and their vocabulary would only consist of: cute, kitty, and idiot.
